PLMR: Small Crew, Big Impact

Video is one of the most effective communication tools in the digital era, especially in the light of incredible expansions in social media and shareable content. Video lets you speak to your audience on a personal level, providing a deep and visual insight into the issues and events that shape our world.

PLMR’s video production team creates content for a wide range of purposes, from recording large-scale events and conferences, to interviewing key spokespeople, to producing animations to explain concepts and processes.

Our Team

Our approach to film is “small crew, maximum impact”, meaning that we often have just one or two people acting as cameraman, director, editor and producer as a single unit. This makes our team more efficient and streamlines the production process. We provide all cameras, sound and lighting equipment (so there are no surprise costs), producing high-definition, broadcast quality video content which can be used in a variety of ways.

Our filming projects are led by our Director of Film, Digital and Design, Mike Ramsden, a former BBC journalist with more than 15 years’ experience in telling stories through broadcast media. He is backed up by a team of experienced scriptwriters, camera operators and editors to ensure that no matter what your video production needs, we can provide the best possible team.

MIKE RAMSDEN: DIRECTOR OF FILM, DIGITAL AND DESIGN

Mike brings 18 years experience of broadcast journalism to PLMR. He was the presenter of BBC London News on BBC1 for ten years, reaching audiences of up to 1.5 million people with live broadcasts from the studios of New Broadcasting House in central London. He’s reported on the build-up to the 2012 Olympic Games, the 7/7 attacks and their aftermath, and filmed and edited a series of reports on a London charity helping the rural poor in Kenya.

LIZ MOORE: SENIOR DIGITAL MANAGER

Liz began her career as a PR consultant, and through this has developed a talent for storytelling and tailoring messages effectively to their intended audiences. In her time at PLMR, she has scripted, filmed and edited a wide range of projects, including the editing and animation for a video detailing a critical scientific breakthrough, and a two-day shoot in the North of England for a high-profile client, which was then shown in Parliament at the launch of a new initiative, among many other video campaigns. 

ALEX HACKETT: SENIOR DIGITAL MANAGER

Alex was the lead operator and organiser of our 2017 General Election Livestream Roadshow, travelling up and down the country, broadcasting hustings events organised by the PLMR team to an audience of over 2 million people on social media. He understands how to make content work for different audiences online, and how it can be used effectively to generate widespread interest for a cause or organisation, whether that’s through social media, web development or digital advertising

GRACE PYE: DIGITAL APPRENTICE

Before joining PLMR, Grace completed her A-Levels in Media, Film and Music in Essex. Alongside her studies, Grace worked on her blog that shows a range of media based works such as Film Studies essays and work towards her own music video. In 2018, Grace completed the Cancer Research UK Race for Life, which she independently filmed and edited to generate awareness for the campaign.
